After months of preparation in the studio, Art Santa Fe 2026 has come to a close—and I'm grateful to say it exceeded my expectations.

One of my goals for the fair was to introduce my work to a broader audience, connect with fellow artists and collectors, and learn more about the contemporary art fair world. I'm happy to say all of those goals were accomplished.

A happy collector!
A happy collector!

Over the course of the three-day event, I sold two original pieces, making the fair a profitable experience. Just as encouraging was the incredible response from visitors. Nearly all of my business cards disappeared, countless people stopped to ask about my woodburning and watercolor process, and I received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback about both the artwork and the stories behind it.

One of the highlights of the weekend was meeting so many talented artists from around the country and around the world. Every conversation offered a chance to learn—from booth presentation and collector engagement to the realities of the art fair circuit. As a first-time exhibitor at a major contemporary art fair, I came away with valuable insights that will help shape future exhibitions.

Perhaps most rewarding of all was watching people genuinely connect with the work. Many visitors spent time studying the details, asking questions about the woodburning process, and sharing what the pieces meant to them. Those conversations reminded me why I create art in the first place.

The exposure from Art Santa Fe also introduced my work to many new collectors and followers. Judging by the enthusiasm throughout the weekend, I'm hopeful that many of those new connections will visit my studio during the 34th Annual Eldorado Studio Tour this September. It will be wonderful to welcome both familiar faces and first-time visitors into my studio and continue sharing my newest work.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by Booth A-1, purchased artwork, shared encouraging words, or simply took the time to learn about my process. Your support means more than you know.

Now it's time to head back to the studio. There are new ideas waiting to be explored, more wood to burn, and another collection beginning to take shape.
